Ardross and Fyrish

A lovely 40-minute drive leads you to Ardross Castle, where Traitors is filmed. You won't see more of the castle than the entrance gates which are topped with carved opium poppies, acknowledging the source of the wealth on which the castle was built by the Matheson family in the 19th century. However it is a lovely drive through beautiful Highand scenery. Ardross Distillery in the same valley is a beautiful restoration of farm buildings in the same valley.

Take in a walk up to the Fyrish monument while you are in the area, the scene of one of The Traitors' missions, from which you will have a wonderful view of the Cromarty Firth. Local eateries include The Storehouse of Foulis and Dalmore Farm Shop.
